Ilkay Ulusoy gained her BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in 1994, and MS in Biomedical Engineering from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA in 1996. In 2003, she received her PhD degree in EEE from METU. Now she is an Associate Professor in the same department. During her PhD studies, she worked with Edwin Hancock from the University of York, UK and after her PhD she worked with Christopher M. Bishop at the Microsoft Research Center, Cambridge, UK. Her main research activities include computer vision and pattern recognition as applied to camera calibration, stereo vision, 2D/3D feature extraction, object detection, tracking and recognition, multi model image fusion, multi-scale analysis, automatic video annotation, face and human recognition, human activity and event detection and recognition for surveillance and security, image processing and target detection for satellite and aerial images in EO, SAR and LIDAR domain, unmanned, autonomous and intelligent vehicles, intelligent transportation, 3D human face modeling for surgery planning, etc.
She supervised 30 MS/PhD students, published 16 international journal papers and presented 40 international conference papers and received Premium Award of IET Image Processing in 2012.
Probabilistic Graphical Models course will be open for
first semester of 2014-2015 academic year

MS and PHD students are welcome
