Abstract: A new optimal routing strategy for dynamically reconfigurable WDM networks is developed. This is based on minimizing the statistically predicted reconfiguration probability. Reconfigurations are necessitated by congestion, link failure, node failure, etc. To achieve survivability, reconfigurations are necessary, but such an aggregate criterion will result in maintaining network optimality.
